Motivation is what moves us.
With the motivation to take intentional action, we can make changes and establish habits that help us live the life we want to. (LIVE ON PURPOSE!)
I used to think I was lazy, and had no discipline.
If you've heard my story, you know that my journey to 'live on purpose' started with me deciding (giving myself permission) to declutter my Basement of Shame
The process of decluttering brought me face to face with the physical consequences of my own complacency.
I wanted to take the driver's seat of my home, my life, my relationships, my health.
I set out to learn what 'intentional living' was and
As I worked on living purposefully in different areas of my life, I was learning about motivation.
I have learned that there are different types of motivation (and how to use them).
I have learned that not having 'enough' willpower is not a moral issue or a personal defect.
I learned how my brain sometimes does NOT help me feel motivated.
I learned how to generate motivation and still take action when motivation is not at 100%.
Would a kale smoothie inspire it?
Should I buy a workout wardrobe?
Will I stumble across the solution on pinterest?
Could I find a planner that would inspire motivation in me?
The more I tried 'hacks' the more walls I hit.
So I resolved that the problem was ME.
I just lacked discipline.
Because if I was more disciplined I would be..... getting up early, journalling, exercising, putting laundry through and drinking the green smoothie ALL BEFORE the kids were up out of bed.
If I had more willpower I wouldn't be sleeping in til the last possible minute when everyone was officially up and I had to burst right into Chaotic Mom Mode.
If I had better motivation I would declutter it all and organize it all and then show up well for parenting and myself and probably happily hop onto the treadmill.
I was telling myself I either had it or didn't
I was telling myself that motivation should come naturally
I was telling myself that if I was motivated it would all be easier, and I would be living the productive life that was necessary for me to be 'successful'
This workshop will feature about 30 minutes of teaching and about 60 minutes of coaching/Q+A
